Pacific Link Housing was proud to welcome Treasurer of Australia, the Hon Dr Jim Chalmers MP, to its Woy Woy development, where construction is underway on 21 new social and affordable homes.
The project is being delivered by Pacific Link Housing with support from the Federal and NSW Governments. It will include 12 social housing homes and nine affordable housing homes in a mix of units and villas, with completion expected in August 2027.
During the visit, the Treasurer toured the site alongside Emma McBride MP, Federal Member for Dobell, and Dr Gordon Reid MP, Federal Member for Robertson. They heard more about the project, which will provide long-term housing for local people in need.
The Woy Woy development is being built by Skope Constructions on a vacant site acquired by Pacific Link Housing in 2018.
The project is supported by a $5.1 million 15-year low interest loan, a $2.1 million concessional loan, both from Housing Australia under the first tranche of the Housing Australia Future Fund. In addition to this debt funding, the Housing Australia Future Fund will also provide income in the form of availability payments over 25 years. The project also received a $4.8 million grant through the NSW Government’s Community Housing Innovation Fund.
The Woy Woy development forms part of Pacific Link Housing’s growing housing pipeline across the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions. Since 2016, Pacific Link Housing has completed 159 homes across ten developments, with a further 89 homes underway.
Once complete, Pacific Link Housing’s two social enterprises will support the site. Affordable housing tenancies will be managed by Key2 Realty, its social enterprise real estate agency, while property maintenance will be delivered by Renew Projects, its property maintenance subsidiary.
