Pacific Link Housing is partnering with Central Coast Council to deliver additional affordable rental housing at 23-25 Ashton Avenue, The Entrance.
The project is a key initiative of the Central Coast Affordable and Alternative Housing Strategy, which was adopted by Central Coast Council in 2019. As a key deliverable of the Strategy, Council committed land towards the development of this site with the aim of creating much needed affordable housing for the region. Through the two-stage tender process, Pacific Link Housing was selected as the successful partner due to the demonstration of a clear vision, capability and capacity to deliver the project. The innovative proposal will benefit the local community by potentially bringing together all three levels of government – local, state and federal and is the first project of its kind on the Central Coast.
The 50-unit project will have an integrated tenancy mix, comprised largely of affordable housing for key worker households, complimented by other tenancies along the housing continuum subject to potential layering of funding contributions from other levels of Government. The Central Coast is experiencing a housing crisis, and this project is designed to provide housing for those on low to moderate incomes.
PROGRESS TO DATE
- March 2022 – Expression of Interest issued by Council
- September 2022 – Request for Proposal issued by Council
- November 2022 – Tender win announced by Council
- June 2023 – Homes NSW Direct Dealing stage 2 approval level achieved
- June 2024 – Deed of Transfer signed
- June 2024 – Land title transferred to Pacific Link Housing
- July 2024 – Development Consulting team engaged
- August 2024 – Site secured
- November 2024 – Pre-DA meeting with Council
- February 2025 – Application to State Significant Pathway lodged
- May 2025 – Approval from Housing Delivery Authority (HDA) to lodge through State approval process (EIS)
- February 2026 – Environmental Impact statement intended lodgement with HDA
- ➡️ CURRENT STATUS – Pacific Link Housing is currently working on finalising the Environmental Impact Statement application via the NSW Government’s state significant, Housing Delivery Authority approval pathway.
