Pacific Link Housing Welcomes Two New Directors

Pacific Link Housing has appointed two new directors to its Board, adding further strength in governance, housing developments and community focused leadership.

The appointments follow an extensive recruitment process that attracted strong interest from experienced professionals across the sector. The Board was encouraged by the quality of applicants and is pleased to welcome directors whose skills and experience align closely with Pacific Link Housing’s vision and strategic direction.

Pacific Link Housing Chairman Wal Edgell said the appointments were an important step for the organisation.

David Risbey

David Risbey has more than 30 years’ experience in governance, executive and project leadership roles, with a background in property development, construction and project management. He has led the delivery of over $1 billion in projects, including more than 1,200 residential dwellings and is a licensed and qualified builder.

David has been connected with the community housing sector for over 10 years, including five and a half years with Evolve Housing. He currently serves on two other boards and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. David works as a project management consultant and is also an independent certifier for the Housing Australia Future Fund on community housing projects.

Debbie Laarkamp

Debbie Laarkamp has more than 20 years’ experience in governance and executive leadership roles across the education, disability and community sectors. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has experience in corporate governance and fiscal oversight.

Debbie has served as a non-executive director on the boards of The Mai Wel Group and Path 2 Change and President of CommStrength Foundation. She is currently General Manager at Zeal Futures Learning, where she is leading the establishment of a Special Assistance Secondary School for vulnerable and disadvantaged students, and is Deputy Chair of Community Education Australia.
