Pacific Link Housing Publishes 2025 ESG Impact Report

Pacific Link Housing has released its 2024-2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Impact Report, providing an update on how the organisation is supporting tenants, improving the management of its housing portfolio and responding to emerging challenges.

This year’s report places a stronger focus on the lived experience of tenants, alongside continued improvements in data, reporting and accountability.

Across its portfolio, Pacific Link Housing continues to provide more than 1,400 safe and affordable homes, with tenants staying an average of 8.7 years. This level of stability supports improved wellbeing, stronger community connection and more consistent long term housing outcomes.

Chairman Wal Edgell said the report reflects both progress and the realities of operating in a complex housing environment.

“Community housing providers play an important role in supporting long term outcomes for tenants and communities. This report shows where we are making progress, but also where there is more to do, particularly in improving the performance of existing homes and responding to changing tenant needs.”

The report highlights growing pressure from energy costs, with many tenants experiencing difficulty managing bills and maintaining comfortable living conditions. In response, Pacific Link Housing is taking a practical approach, combining targeted upgrades where possible with longer term improvements through new developments.

Energy efficiency remains a key focus, with all homes in the current development pipeline designed to include solar, along with improved insulation and natural ventilation to support more comfortable and energy-efficient living.

Group CEO Ian Lynch said the report demonstrates a balanced and practical approach.

“We are continuing to build our understanding of where we can make the greatest difference. That includes improving environmental performance, strengthening tenant outcomes and working with partners to address challenges that sit beyond our direct control.”

The report also highlights the contribution of Pacific Link Housing’s social enterprises, Key2 Realty and Renew Projects. Both continue to reinvest a portion of profits into tenant support programs and sustainability initiatives, creating an additional pathway to deliver social and environmental outcomes.

Pacific Link Housing will continue to refine its ESG approach as data improves and opportunities emerge, with a focus on delivering outcomes that are practical, measurable and responsive to tenant needs whilst strengthening the overall performance of the organisation.
